Custom Orthotics

sneakers climbing stairsYour feet are the foundation of your body, so it’s important that they function well and feel great. That’s why we offer custom orthotics at Alexander Chiropractic and Wellness. These custom shoe inserts play a crucial role in maintaining proper body alignment and preventing biomechanical issues that can affect various parts of the body.

Foot Levelers

We are proud to offer Foot Levelers orthotics, designed to address issues like flat feet or high arches, which can disrupt the alignment of the knees, hips, and spine. When these misalignments occur, they often lead to pain and discomfort in the lower back, mid-back, or neck. We tell patients that everything is connected, so a dysfunction in one area can cause misalignments elsewhere.

What to Expect

When patients come in for chiropractic care, custom orthotics can be a recommended addition to their treatment plan. During an orthotics appointment, we’ll take a digital scan of your foot, analyzing the three major arches and overall posture. This detailed scan helps in creating a custom orthotic tailored to your specific needs, activity level, and type of footwear.

Whether you need orthotics for business shoes, athletic shoes, or even sandals, there is a wide range of options available. Your orthotics can even include heel lifts to address any structural imbalances.

The orthotics usually take seven to ten days to make and are sent back to our clinic. There is typically a three-month trial period during which patients can test the orthotics and, if not satisfied, potentially get their money back from the manufacturer.

Benefits and Trial Period

Custom orthotics aren’t just for adults; they can benefit any age group, including children. Foot Levelers orthotics are designed to be stable and supportive without being too rigid, making them comfortable to wear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does insurance cover orthotics?

While some insurances offer a DME (Durable Medical Equipment) benefit that can partially cover the cost of orthotics, they are generally considered a cash service.

How long do they last?

Orthotics are durable and can last for several years, but it’s important to have them checked periodically to ensure they are still providing the necessary support.
